December Releases

So, what are we looking forward to in December?

Well not a lot :( I admit I'm quite surprised at the amount of books coming out in December. It seems that December is a low month... Is it because of the holiday season? I would actually expect the opposite... Lots of new books coming out and being bought as gifts. Ah well, perhaps it's to allow us, readers, to save a bit of money and buy more gifts? :)

Although there aren't as many releases coming out, they are still quite interesting :D

December 1

Breakfast in Bed by Robin Kaye
Rich, the epitome of "anti-domestic," can't cook to save his life, and his idea of cleaning his apartment is to invite his mother over. But he's ready to settle down, and he can't stop thinking about the ex-girlfriend who got away. When he notices that his soon-to-be-married friends cooked and cleaned their way into their women's hearts, he asks his friend Becca to help transform him into a nurturing man to win back his ex.

Rich is the only guy who's taken the time to know Becca for herself. She decides she'll give him the makeover he's asking for, though she'll be damned if she's going to turn him into a domestic god for another woman. She wants Rich for herself, but how can she convince him that her kitchen and her bedroom are the only domestic locales he desires?

Divine Misdemeanors by Laurell K. Hamilton
You may know me best as Meredith Nic Essus, princess of faerie. Or perhaps as Merry Gentry, Los Angeles private eye. In the fey and mortal realms alike, my life is the stuff of royal intrigue and celebrity drama. Among my own, I have confronted horrendous enemies, endured my noble kin's treachery and malevolence, and honored my duty to conceive a royal heir--all for the right to claim the throne. But I turned my back on court and crown, choosing exile in the human world--and in the arms of my beloved Frost and Darkness.

While I may have rejected the monarchy, I cannot abandon my people. Someone is killing the fey, which has left the LAPD baffled and my guardsmen and me deeply disturbed. My kind are not easily captured or killed. At least not by mortals. I must get to the bottom of these horrendous murders, even if that means going up against Gilda, the Fairy Godmother, my rival for fey loyalties in Los Angeles.
But even stranger things are happening. Mortals I once healed with magic are suddenly performing miracles, a shocking phenomenon wreaking havoc on human/faerie relations. Though I am innocent, dark suspicions of banned magical activities swirl around me.

I thought I'd left the blood and politics behind in my own turbulent realm. I had dreamed of an idyllic life in sunny L.A. with my beloved ones beside me. But it becomes time to wake up and realize that evil knows no borders, and that nobody lives forever--even if they're magical.
Genre: paranormal/urban fantasy
Series: Meredith Gentry, book #8

Ames: My crack. I can't deny myself. But I know I'll be getting this from the library until the MMP comes out.

But when he lays eyes on Ada of Keyworth, he is tempted beyond measure by her sultry beauty and dangerous curves. Far from her home in England, Ada has been battling inner demons for more than a year. When she discovers that her only friend has abandoned her, she has no choice but to grudgingly accept Gavriel's help. But Ada is not fooled. Though Gavriel wears the robes of a monk, Ada sees that he is a virile man who looks at her with a hunger that matches her own - one that begs to be satisfied again and again.

"Pastor's assistant" is not a phrase that springs to mind when Noah meets brassy, beautiful Alicia Baldwin. With her colorful clothes and even more colorful past, Alicia needs a respectable job so she can regain custody of her children. Noah can't help but admire her spunk and determination, and she may just be the breath of fresh air he needs.

You ladies crack me up! I am looking forward to a couple of those up there!! I have a tbr pile that throws things at me when I bring a new book home. So, what I have to do is leave it out the closet for a while and take a few books out the closet to "act" like I am rearranging them, then I can stick the new one in there. I don't want the other ones make fun of the newbie in there! Ha!!
Well, I hope you ladies have a wonderful weekend!

Ok, how did that Garwood sneak past me? That actually sounds interesting! (I haven't been too interested in her RS's lately).

Cecile, I love how you talk about your books. I think my tbr pile is reproducing. LOL

I haven't seen Breakfast in Bed by Robin Kaye in the stores and I visited two stores this past weekend. I want that book! Oh, and I want Sizzle as well because I'm a JG fan. Plus, I'm hoping to meet more of the Buchanan siblingss!

Btw, I'm looking forward to reading Hidden Fire, book #3 in the Firefighters of Station series even though her book #2 didn't impress me. Hidden Fire wasn't in the stores either!

Tabitha - I haven't seen it anywhere yet either. And I think that happened last time to a sourcebooks book I wanted, it didn't show up in the store on the release date. Which sucks for sure.

I've tried the first in the firefighters series of Jo Davis' and I did not enjoy it. Which is unfortunate, because I love firefighters!

Tabitha said...

Thanks, Ames. I thought it was just my stores that weren't stocking them for some unknown reason!

Hmmm, Sourcebooks books are a little tricky to get in my opinion. Bookstores seem to get them late and not store many.
