There's just one small problem; she can't control her attraction to Clay.

But in Virgin River, faith in new beginnings and the power of love has doors opening everywhere...
Genre: contemporary romance
Series: Virgin River, Book #11

Nath: I really enjoyed Virgin River and after that book, I've become a huge fan of Ms Carr. However, I feel that her last few books have been lacking something... Still, going to give this book a go :P

Ames: Ok, I read and loved Virgin River and have since bought up all the books in the series...without reading them. So as much as I'm interested in this book, I have nine other VR books to read, so I'm drawing the line here, I won't get this one until I'm more caught up in this series. Whew! That was hard!

Prom & Prejudice by Elizabeth Eulberg

Lizzie is happy about her friend’s burgeoning romance but less than impressed by Charles’s friend, Will Darcy, who’s snobby and pretentious. Darcy doesn’t seem to like Lizzie either, but she assumes it’s because her family doesn’t have money. Clearly, Will Darcy is a pompous jerk — so why does Lizzie find herself drawn to him anyway?

Ames: I've pre-ordered this one and thanks to Wena for bringing it to my attention. I loved loved loved The Lonely Hearts Club so I can't wait to read this!

Twenty years later, Alina is dead and Mac has returned to the country that expelled them to hunt her sister's murderer. Lady Minerva Sharpe has the perfect plan to thwart her grandmother's demands: become engaged to a rogue! Surely Gran would rather release her inheritance than see her wed a scoundrel. And who better to play the part of Minerva's would-be husband than wild barrister Giles Masters, the very inspiration for the handsome spy in the popular Gothic novels she writes? The memory of his passionate kiss on her nineteenth birthday has lingered in Minerva's imagination, though she has no intention of really falling for such a rakehell, much less marrying him. Little does she know, he really is a covert government operative. When they team up to investigate the mystery behind her parents' deaths, their fake betrothal leads to red-hot desire. Then Minerva discovers Giles's secret double life, and he must use all the cunning tricks of his trade to find his way back into her heart.
Genre: Historical romance
Series: The Hellions of Halstead Hall series, Book #3

Nath: I've been enjoying this series and Ms Jeffries' writing. I'm particularly looking forward to this book, because of Minerva, the heroine :P She's a gothic author and quite independent and it's going to be interesting to see her fall in love with Giles. Not sure how I feel about Giles being an agent though :(

Ames: *sigh* Here's a series I want to start...I can't wait to see what you think of the latest installment Nath!

Genre: Paranormal romance/urban fantasy

Nath: Nalini Singh. Need I say more? This series is quite different from the Psy/changeling series, but very good on its own... and things between Elena and Raphael just keep getting more interesting and complex :P

Ames: I love Raphael. His hotness has no rival... his jealousy and possessiveness over Elena is fantastical. Seriously.... Raphael is like my literary Eric Bana. My number one guy. I'm drooling already. Am I rambling? haha

Monroe: Ames...yes you're drooling but have EVERY RIGHT TO! Hello!!!! Like Nath said its Nalini and this series seriously rocks! Its so exciting and hot! lol

Genre: Urban fantasy
Series: Mercy Thompson series, Book #6

Nath: While I prefer the Alpha & Omega series, at this point, it doesn't really matter LOL. All I want is to read about Ms Briggs' werewolves!! I hope in this book, Mercy is going to find more about herself and her origins, it'd be quite interesting :P

Ames: I still haven't read Silver Borne. Can you believe it? But that's not stopping me from getting this one!

Monroe: Another one I need to catch up on. Normally I'm SO up to date but I get sad knowing its the latest book and always put off reading it so NOW I'll have two to read! lol Yay me! ;P

The winner of this game will claim both the scandalous memoirs, and her heart.
Genre: Historical romance
Series: N/A

Nath: Ms Alexander is a comfort author of mine... so I just buy her books LOL. I really like her writing style :) Although now that I read this blurb, it sounds familiar for some reasons. Hmmm. In any case, I was unaware though that she changed publisher... I do hope though she'll get to write the last book of the Harrington series...

Genre: Contemporary romance/Women's fiction

Nath: I liked Ms Wiggs' writing a few years back. Now, I find that her style has transitioned from contemporary romance into women's fiction and I don't know, the romance is less prominent... Still, I'm going to get this book, because it's finally Daisy's book and I'm curious what her story is going to be :)

Oh man! A new Karen Rose?! I may have one of my buddies in our UK office pick it up for me and send it through interoffice mail :)

And the next Hoyt (can't wait), and the next Jeffries.

And a book that looks like a regency (judging the book by its cover, uh huh) set in 17th century? Wonder if that's a typo and it's actually the 1700s. Intrigued, though.

Tabitha said...

Hi guys, Happy New Year!! I love the new look! The blue is very calming to me and I need all the calm I can get at the moment, lol.

You know, I saw the cover of the Dreiling book at Amazon today and actually contemplated picking it up. Thanks to you guys now I have a review to checkout first before buying!

Of the list, I am definitely picking up the Rose - on preordered as well!, Singh, and Briggs. Only three books but all by favorite authors so I really can't complain. Yay, can't wait!

~ames~ said...

Lori-That's so cool you can get someone in the UK to possibly send you the latest KR! And yeah, must be a typo. I hope. LOL

Tabz-Happy New Year! I'm intrigued by the Dreiling, but I don't know if I can get past the whole matchmaking thing.

Leslie said...

Hey, I’m actually glad I’m a few behind on a series. I might be able to catch up with Karen Rose’s books by the time this one hits the US shelves. :)

SHADOWFEVER

MERCY

I’m just going to ignore the Carr books. So far behind on that series. LOL

Still haven’t tried Courtney Milan but keep hearing such good reviews for her books. Must get with it.

Ah, Hoyt. Can’t wait for this one. I’m also looking forward to the story within the story at the beginning of each chapter. Love those!

Isabel said...

I want to check out Prom & Prejudice! It looks really cute. I'll be looking for that one.

Christine said...

Happy New Year! I love the blue, too... very relaxing. Your list is relaxing my wallet, too.... *sigh*

SHADOWFEVER!!! OMG!!!!!! I am dying for this one and I only just completely caught up in the series in December. LOL! I haven't been this captivated by a series in such a long time...

Okay, let's see... the only other books already on my list to buy are Angels Consort (even though I'm behind... ) and of course, River Marked. But actually, I'll borrow the Mercy book from the library since it's hardcover and then buy the paperback for my shelf when it comes out. :)

I have to say I love the idea of Guhrke's series called "Jilted at the Alter"--I just love those stories!

And Eloisa James' Beauty and the Beast book sounds good, too!

AND I really like Courtney Milan's writing so I'll be reading Unveiled at one point, too. ..

AND ... I'll probably read the Hoyt book at one point as well because so many fellow trusted readers really enjoy her stories.

I think that's it... $IGH...

nath said...

Lori - Yep, new Karen Rose... and that would be such a cool way to get the book, Lori!! I was going to order it through Book Depository, but somehow, I couldn't... so I went with Amazon.co.uk... What I wouldn't do for my next KR fix LOL.

Tabitha - I'm glad you're liking the blue, Tabs :) I guess we were looking for something simple :P

By the way, Tabs. If you want the Dreiling, I can send it to you :P

I guess publishers are making up the boring month of December we got LOL.

Leslie - Yes, sometimes, there is something to be said about being behind in a series :P I think it gives you more option and more thinking time... like you know, if a series turns sour, you can stop before getting there...

Isabel - It does sound like a cute book :) Ames pre-ordered it and I picked it up at the bookstore the other day :P

Christine - LOL about the wallet comment :P

Actually, I got the series name wrong... it's not Jilted, but Abandoned at the Altar... although imo, close enough LOL.

Well the good news is that you're planning to use your library and also, you don't need to buy all these books at once :)

Christine said...

I like 'Jilted' better than 'Abandoned'. Too bad we weren't asked our opinions before the author/editor named the series. LOL!

Unfortunately, my library won't get most of these titles in. Only if it comes out in HC or sometimes a mass market, but usually more likely to find a romantic suspense or mystery or chick lit. I should check to see if they have any Karen Rose.

Christine said...

I meant trade, not mass market in my comment above. My library never gets mass market paperbacks in the adult section--why is that? On a rare occasion I spot a trade book on the shelves.

Rowena said...

Dude, I had Prom and Prejudice in my hands last weekend but i put it back because I signed up for an ARC tour and now I'm regretting that decision. I want to read it! I still have to read the first book you blogged about.

Hmmm, there are a lot of books coming out that I want to read this month but most of them are YA.

How funny that you read the first book in the Dream series, Ames. Same with me, I keep saying that I'm going to catch up with the series eventually but I haven't yet.

Nath, I really liked Julia's book (the Laura Lee Guhrke one)...I think I liked it better than the first book.

I have Unveiled in my TBR pile, I must read that soon because I want to have good taste too! =P

Monroe and Ames- How did you guys like Tempted? HON series?

nath said...

Christine - Oh, that sucks Christine, but also understandable. It's the pricier books that people won't get.

Rowena - Wena, Prom & Prejudice is a very fast read. I started it this morning and was done in the afternoon :)

I'm really glad to hear that you enjoyed Julia's book :) I read the excerpt and I had a feeling about it... and the theme is one I adore :) Can't wait to get my hands on it :)
