Bernadette Hogan doesn't make mistakes. Not when it comes to caring for her mother, and not at her job protecting Texas's most eligible—and infuriating—bachelor. but can a bad boy be good for a lifetime?

To self-made millionaire Jeremy Bridges, women are like fine wine: if held for too long, they sour. But one wild night with Bernadette changed all that. She makes him laugh, she makes him think, and soon she's going to make him a father. For the first time, Jeremy wants to be a one-woman man. So how can he convince the fiercely independent Bernadette he's ready to change from partying playboy to dependable dad—and become the loving husband she deserves?

Hammered by Kevin Hearne
published by Random House
Thor, the Norse god of thunder, is worse than a blowhard and a bully—he’s ruined countless lives and killed scores of innocents. After centuries, Viking vampire Leif Helgarson is ready to get his vengeance, and he’s asked his friend Atticus O’Sullivan, the last of the Druids, to help take down this Norse nightmare.

One survival strategy has worked for Atticus for more than two thousand years: stay away from the guy with the lightning bolts. But things are heating up in Atticus’s home base of Tempe, Arizona. There’s a vampire turf war brewing, and Russian demon hunters who call themselves the Hammers of God are running rampant. Despite multiple warnings and portents of dire consequences, Atticus and Leif journey to the Norse plain of Asgard, where they team up with a werewolf, a sorcerer, and an army of frost giants for an epic showdown against vicious Valkyries, angry gods, and the hammer-wielding Thunder Thug himself.
Genre: Urban Fantasy
Series: Iron Druid Chronicles #3

Nath: This series is okay so far. I haven't been blown-away yet, but there is definite potential. I think for it to be a success, Mr Hearne needs to strengthen his plot. In my opinion, Hammered will be the turning point - it'll make or break the series... Right now, I'm still in, especially since I enjoy Atticus and Leif's interactions :)

Ames: I'll wait for your verdict on this book, Nath. I still haven't read the first one.

Nath: I think this is going to be a very interesting book :)I enjoyed Ms Jenning's last romantic suspense and am hoping this one will be as good and unusual :)

Persuading the earl is another matter entirely.
Edward has his future neatly mapped out. He hopes to wed his steadfast companion, a woman who shares his values of loyalty, respect, and decorum. But arriving in London to take his seat in the House of Lords, he is derailed by Angeline, an exquisite bird of paradise seemingly devoted to sending his predictable life into chaos.

From the brilliant hues of her fashion to her hoydenish antics, Angeline is the last woman on earth for Edward. And yet a stolen kiss in the moonlight awakens something deep and primal within him. Naturally, being a gentleman, he does the right thing after compromising a lady: He offers marriage.

Angeline knows that Edward’s proposal is born of duty, not love. But denying something so provocative and passionate is easier said than done. I’m curious about the J. A. Pitts series so I’ve requested the first book from the library. Since the Balogh is hc, that’s a library read too.

Kaki Warner’s next western is out tomorrow. I really enjoyed her other trilogy so I’m definitely reading this one. :)

I never read Jane Graves but the cover caught my eye at Target. The blurb also sound interesting so I'm thinking of picking up for the kindle. Maybe the Mallery as well. Her books are hit or miss for me but I can never resist buying them. Lol

I'm definitely picking up the Jennings and Andersen when it comes out. The Armstrong I'll wait for pb. I still haven't picked up Waking the Witch so I def can wait for Spellbound as well. :)

Another book I'm looking forward to not on the list is Touch of Frost by Jennifer Estep, her new YA series. I read the prequel First Frost and I'm really looking forward to ToF even more!

Oooh! New Kelley Armstrong. Good news.

I will read the Balogh too, but it has been years since I read the first book in the trilogy. Seems a bit odd to be releasing a new book in the series after so long.

I want the new Jane Graves, it looks good. I read the Andersen, the Echols (I think you'll enjoy it. I liked it way better than the last one) and the Mallery. All were decent reads. =)

Isabel - Really?!? :) I'll let you know if there's something that you have to absolutely read! :)

Leslie - I know, right? I'm looking forward to see what you think about it. At any other given time, I'd rush out to the bookstore to buy it... but yeah, after RWA? I don't think it's a good idea LOL.

I'm still debating whether I should wait for the Balogh or not... Sigh, I guess we'll see how my reading goes :)

Ohhhh. I should try Ms Warner's book. Hmmm.

Tabitha - LOL, I know what you mean. How did you enjoy Fool's Gold town? I just hope that it's not triplets hooking up with triplets...

I think the Jane Graves sounds right up my alley :)

Nod nod, I hear you. I'm debating what to do with the Armstrong... Sigh.

Awwww, should have gotten you the Jennings ^_^; Next time, definitively :)

I enjoyed the Andersen, I hope you will too!

Touch of Frost is coming out in August no? That's why it's not on my list. I'm thinking of getting it as well :) Especially now that it has a new, nice cover!!

Rowena - That's good to hear, Rowena ;) I read the Andersen already and really enjoyed it :)

I missed Jennifer Echols at the RWA lit signing... ran out of time. Did you get to her, nath?

The UF anthology with Patricia Briggs looks good... but hopefully my library will get it.

Hoping not to buy any books this month well since I ended June with a bang at the cash register at the RWA lit signing. lol!

Amazon shows the release date of ToF as 7/26 although the kindle had 8/1. Publisher release date also shows 8/1 but I asked Jennifer Estep about the date difference and she said it should be 7/26. Idk. I was debating between the formats (kindle is actually cheaper) but when I saw 8/1 for kindle I went ahead and preordered the pb. Lol!
