My Ex from Hell by Tellulah Darling
Published by Te Da Media
Sixteen-year-old Sophie Bloom wishes she’d been taught the following:

a) Bad boy’s presence (TrOuBlE) + teen girl’s brain (DraMa) = TrAuMa (Highly unstable and very volatile.)
b) The Genus Greekulum Godissimus is notable for three traits: 1) awesome abilities, 2) grudges, and 3) hook-ups, break-ups, and in-fighting that puts cable to shame.

Prior to the Halloween dance, Sophie figures her worst problems involve adolescent theatrics, bitchy yoga girls, and being on probation at her boarding school for mouthy behaviour. Then she meets bad boy Kai and gets the kiss that rocks her world.

Literally.

This breath stealing lip lock reawakens Sophie’s true identity: Persephone, Goddess of Spring. She’s key to saving humanity in the war between the Underworld and Olympus, target numero uno of Hades and Zeus, and totally screwed.

Plus there’s also the little issue that Sophie’s last memory as Persephone was just before someone tried to murder her.

Big picture: master her powers, get her memories back, defeat Persephone’s would be assassin, and save the world. Also, sneak into the Underworld to retrieve stolen property, battle the minions of Hades and Zeus, outwit psycho nymphs, slay a dragon, rescue a classmate, keep from getting her butt expelled from the one place designed to keep her safe...

...and stop kissing Kai, Prince of the Underworld.
Genre: Fantasy Young Adult
Series: The Blooming Goddess Trilogy, Book #1

Nath: The blurb is making my head spins @_@ Hopefully, it's not an indication of the writing, because it does sound very interesting! Ames, you'll have to let me know how you enjoy it!

Ames:  I really enjoyed this author's other book, Sam Cruz' Infallible Guide to Getting Girls.  I thought the humour was outrageous and I'm hoping this is somewhat similar.  It does sound off the wall and I like that.

Instead, she's being sued. All because of the three kids she recently inherited. Yes, Finn's heart is in the right place. But can't he see that by living with him, the kids won't have what they have here in Valley Ridge—a real home? Genre: Category Romance, Contemporary romance
Series: n/a

Nath: I like this theme where the hero and heroine are brought together because one or both of them get the guardianship of kids. First, because the kids are usually cute and second, the H/H are usually opposite and I love that! :) So You Are Invited sounds right up my alley :)

Bolted by Meg Benjamin
Published by Samhain
Greta Brewster McBain in a bind. Two, if she’s really counting. First there’s the can-barely-breathe, bridesmaid’s dress from hell. Second, the stranger who just carried her “perfect” brother’s fiancée out the church door has made it impossible to tell her own mother about her own divorce.

Rather than confirm her reputation as the family screw-up, Greta takes a drive to clear her head.

Trapped in a hole and unable to reach his cell phone, Hank Mitchell is resigned to becoming a permanent part of his own archeological dig when help arrives—in the form of a woman who looks like a Gone With The Wind refugee. Behind the ruffles and lace, though, is something he appreciates: a woman who isn’t afraid of a little dirt.

Their instant connection draws Greta into the eccentric world of the Hotel Grand, where she impulsively trades her hoopskirts for an apron. Soon things are getting hot, not only in the hotel kitchen, but in Hank’s arms...
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Series: Promise Harbor Wedding, Book #2

Nath: It seems like Samhain is on a roll with their covers! I'd pick this up for the cover only... so I guess it's lucky for me this is in e-format :) Another one I'll wait for your recommendation, Ames!

Ames:  I've read Meg Benjamin before and I enjoy her writing.  So pair that up with a super cute cover and I'm sold.  Of course I'll let you know if I enjoy it or not Nath.  :P

Love Irresistibly by Julie James
Published by Berkley

AND WHAT HE WANTS IS HER.

A savvy businesswoman, Brooke knows she needs to play ball with the U.S. Attorney’s office—even if it means working with Cade. No doubt there’s a sizzling attraction beneath all their sarcastic quips, but Brooke is determined to keep things casual. Cade agrees—until a surprising turn of events throws his life into turmoil, and he realizes that he wants more than just a good time from the one woman with whom he could fall terrifyingly, irresistibly in love...
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Series: FBI/US Attorney, Book #4

Nath: It's a book by Ms James, do I need to say more? LOL. I enjoy her writing style and this one interests me because the heroine is the businesswoman :)

Ames:  It's Julie James, so of course it's a winner.

Genre: Contemporary Romance
Series: n/a

Nath: Usually, Ms Walker and I don't click, but that's her paranormal books. Wrecked being a contemporary romance, I think I'm going to try my luck because the blurb sounds good :) And really, you can never get enough contemporary romance books in my opinion :P

Ames:  I read this one already (tip o'the hat to NetGalley).  It's a friends to lovers plot which I looooove.  I highly recommend this one.

But it turns out Mary is no stranger to celebrity news, and he’s got a very big job ahead of him: proving that he’s worth more than a one-night stand…
Genre: Contemporary Erotic Romance
Series: Delicious, Book #3

Nath: I haven't read any of the previous installments in this series and I usually stay away from Ms Dane's contemporaries, but I have to say, this one sounds good!! Love it when it's the man who wants more LOL.

Ames:  I love Lauren Dane's writing and this series so far has been a winner for me.  Tart was good so it's a no brainer that I'm looking forward to this one.

Then she remembers who killed her during her last life, nine hundred years ago...Michael.
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Series: Game of Shadows, Book #1

Nath: I kind of have this one on my radar, but I'm not sure. There's been a huge buzz for Ms Harrison's other paranormal series, The Elder Races, and for me, that series is just so so. Usually, I would wait for the reviews, but I have the feeling that the only way I'm going to find out whether this new series will suit me is by picking it up on my own. Sigh. What to do?

Ames:  Wait for me to read it!  LOL  I am in love in Dragon Bound (yes, still) and I haven't read all the rest of the Elder Races but I am looking forward to this one nonetheless.   I think it sounds very interesting.

Nath: It definitively could be :) And okay, I'll wait for you, so just let me know when you're ready :P

Let It Be Me by Kate Noble
Published by Berkley Sensation
London weather is chilly—and the social scene even more so. Luckily, Bridget Forrester is just getting warmed up...

Bridget longs to meet a gentleman who doesn't mention her beautiful sister upon shaking her hand. But since being branded a shrew after a disastrous social season, Bridget knows she's lucky to even have a man come near her. It's enough to make a lady flee the country...

So Bridget heads to Venice for music lessons with the renowned Italian composer Vincenzo Carpenini, with whom she's been corresponding. But not only is Carpenini not expecting her, he doesn't even remember her! His friend, theater owner Oliver Merrick, does, though. And one look into her tantalizing green eyes has him cursing his impulsive letter-writing, which brought her across the continent. Yet before Merrick can apologize, Carpenini has ordered her away.

Little does either man know that they will soon be embroiled in a wager that will require the beautiful Miss Forrester's help—or that there'll be far more at stake in this gamble than money…
Genre: Historical romance
Series: Blue Raven, Book #5

Nath: I'm a few books behind in this series. I like Ms Noble's historical because I find them different. I would have liked to see Bridget deal with the ton, being branded a shrew... Too bad she's going to be in Venice instead. However, the reversal of role for the letter writing switcheroo is intriguing :) Might be time for me to catch up on this series.

Ames:  I like Kate Noble's writing and Bridget is the younger sister to Sarah, who was the heroine of If I Fall, which I enjoyed.

The Bridgertons: Happily Ever After by Julia Quinn
Published by HarperCollins (Avon)
For the first time in print, New York Times bestselling author Julia Quinn presents a collection of "second epilogues" to her Bridgerton series, previously published as e-originals, plus a new bonus Bridgerton novella: Violet in Bloom," a short story in which we finally meet Edmund Bridgerton.
Genre: Historical Romance
Series: Bridgerton epilogues

Nath: I know this has been circulating online for a number of years already, but I never got the chance to read them. Also, I'd like to have a print copy to complete my collection :) Who's Edmund Bridgerton though? The father? Plus, this will tide me over until Ms Quinn's next new release... One year of waiting, that's just too long ^_^;

Ames:  *sigh*  I stopped the Bridgerton series after Francesca's book.  I should catch up. LOL

Sweet Madness by Heather Snow
Published by New American Library (Signet Eclipse)
There’s a fine line between love and insanity.

An Untamed Mind

Ever since her husband’s sudden and tragic death, Lady Penelope Bridgeman has committed herself to studying the maladies of the mind, particularly treating traumatized soldiers of the Napoleonic Wars. It is this expertise that brings the Marquess of Bromwich’s family to her door.

Gabriel Devereaux’s unexpected and unpredictable episodes are unlike any Penelope has studied. The once proud soldier has been left shaken and withdrawn, but she manages to build a fragile trust between them. Strangely, Gabriel seems completely lucid when not in the grips of his mania, and in the calm between bouts, she is surprised by how much she is drawn to him.

Despite his own growing feelings, Gabriel knows that he is fit for no one, and is determined to keep Penelope away from his descent into madness. But even though she knows firsthand the folly of loving a broken man, Penelope cannot stop herself from trying to save him, no matter the cost.
Genre: Historical romance
Series: Veiled Seduction, Book #3

Nath: Honestly, I haven't really been impressed by the two first books in this series. Ms Snow has a nice voice, but it's the plot ^_^; As such, I wasn't going to continue the series... until I read this blurb. The idea of having a heroine studying PTSD in a historical setting is interesting. So this one could work for me :)

Genre: Cozy Mystery
Series: A Wishcraft Mystery, Book #3

Nath: Heather Blake aka Heather Webber is on my list of auto-buy authors for cozy mysteries :) I really enjoy her books for the mystery, but also the setting/background of the series. Also, I feel she integrates the romance thread very well. All in all, looking forward to this newest installment of A Wishcraft Mystery :)

Genre: Fantasy Romance
Series: Hearts and Thrones, Book #1

Nath: I love court intrigues, political machinations in fantasy worlds and this one seems to be all about that :) It's been a while since there's a been a good fantasy romance series and I hope this one will be it!

Nath: Sounds pretty cute :)

Ames:  Nath, did you ever read the Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight?  I like her writing and this one does indeed sound cute.

Nath: I was going to... Even actually started it, but I lost interest ^_^;

In this emotional and powerfully erotic tale of love and redemption, a tender vicar’s daughter and a tortured war hero discover that sin may be their only salvation.

Of course the marquess is far from perfect husband material. Although he is exceedingly handsome, with a perfect, strong body, chiseled jaw, and piercing green eyes, Alasdair is also too fond of opium, preferring delirium to reality. Still, he has come to Mary’s aid, and now she intends to return the favor. She will show him that he is not evil, just troubled.

Mary was a damsel in need of a hero, but Alasdair’s plan is shortsighted. He never foresaw her desire to save him from himself. The devil may have kept her from hell, but will Mary’s good intentions lead them back to the brink—or to heaven in each other’s arms?

Ames:  Megan Frampton is also Megan Caldwell, who wrote Vanity Fare (which I really enjoyed) so I'm keen to read more by her.

Genre: Romantic Suspense
Series: n/a

Nath: I might OD on her trilogies/quartets, her re-prints and her In Death series, but never of her stand-alone books. Sure, some are better than others, but still, the annual NR is a must for me :) Looking forward to this one!

Ames:  I can't wait!  I know it won't be another The Witness, but I hope like hell this is good.  LOL

Genre: Chick-Lit
Series: n/a

Nath: This one, I'm keeping on my radar for whenever I'll be in the mood for a chick-lit book because Ms Kinsella is usually a sure value :)

Ames:  Same here, going to keep an eye out for it.  But 30 seems a bit young to worry about getting married.  I think it'll be interesting.

Nath: I guess it depends on some people, Ames.

April 30

A Counterfeit Betrothal/The Notorious Rake by Mary Balogh
Published by Random House Publishing (Dell)
A COUNTERFEIT BETROTHAL

Lady Sophia Bryant has no intention of marrying anytime soon. Her one desire is to reunite her parents, who have been estranged for fourteen years. Surely, if she happens to announce her betrothal—even a false one—they will be forced to see each other. The trap is set—if only Lady Sophia can keep her foolish heart from falling prey to her brilliant snares.

THE NOTORIOUS RAKE

Lord Edmund Waite is everything that Lady Mary Gregg despises: lewd, lascivious, mocking—the most incorrigible and successful rogue around. Even more surprising is her reaction to his shocking advances. She may be a lady, but this man knows so well how to make her feel like a woman.
Genre: Historical Romance
Series: n/a

Nath: Definitively getting this one. One of Ames' favorite book by Ms Balogh is The Notorious Rake and I've been wanting to read it ever since she reviewed it. Now I can, yay!

Ames:  I frequently re-read The Notorious Rake and I can't wait to have a brand new copy in my hands!  I just don't want to get your hopes up Nath...sometimes you don't love books as much as I do and it bums me out a little bit.  LOL

Lord of Wicked Intentions by Lorraine Heath

Rafe is wealthy, as well as ruthless. Yet his coldness belies deep passion and deeper secrets. If she must be his, Evelyn intends to lay bare everything the Lord of Pembrook is hiding. But dark discoveries threaten to destroy them both until unexpected love guides the last lost lord home.
Genre: Historical Romance
Series: The Lost Lords of Pembrook, Book #3

Nath: Last book in The Lost Lords of Pembrook trilogy. I'm looking forward to it because so far, Rafe is still quite a mystery to the readers :) From the blurb, it seems like the heroine has some gumption and I can't wait to see her uncover Rafe's secrets. I also hope there'll be more scenes with the three brothers and a reconciliation! That'd make a perfect ending for the trilogy :)

Ames:  I wonder sometimes...about this selling of virtuous girls...LOL  But whatever, I think this one will be good.  It's Lorraine Heath for goodness sakes!  She's been an auto-buy for me for a while now.

Published by Avon Impulse
At last, Diana gets a romance of her own! But with the last man anyone in Spindle Cove expects...

Beautiful and elegant, Miss Diana Highwood is destined to marry a wealthy, well-placed nobleman. At least, that's what her mother has loudly declared to everyone in Spindle Cove.

Is their love forged strong enough to last, or are they just playing with fire?
Genre: Historical Romance
Series: Spindle Cove #3.5

Ames:  I love Tessa Dare and I've been enjoying this series so far.  :P  Also, a blacksmith for a hero sounds like just the thing.  Blacksmith's are HOT.  They are strong and usually shirtless...working by a fire all day.  LOL  Just kidding.  But not really.

A Spear of Summer Grass by Deanna Raybourn
Published by Harlequin Mira
Paris, 1923

The daughter of a scandalous mother, Delilah Drummond is already notorious, even amongst Paris society. But her latest scandal is big enough to make even her oft-married mother blanch. Delilah is exiled to Kenya and her favorite stepfather's savannah manor house until gossip subsides.

Fairlight is the crumbling, sun-bleached skeleton of a faded African dream, a world where dissolute expats are bolstered by gin and jazz records, cigarettes and safaris. As mistress of this wasted estate, Delilah falls into the decadent pleasures of society.

Against the frivolity of her peers, Ryder White stands in sharp contrast. As foreign to Delilah as Africa, Ryder becomes her guide to the complex beauty of this unknown world. Giraffes, buffalo, lions and elephants roam the shores of Lake Wanyama amid swirls of red dust. Here, life is lush and teeming-yet fleeting and often cheap.

Amidst the wonders-and dangers-of Africa, Delilah awakes to a land out of all proportion: extremes of heat, darkness, beauty and joy that cut to her very heart. Only when this sacred place is profaned by bloodshed does Delilah discover what is truly worth fighting for-and what she can no longer live without.
Genre: Historical Fiction
Series: n/a

Ames:  I love Deanna Raybourn's writing and even though the setting is similar to Lauren Willig's release I'm going to be all over this one.  I can't wait!

Genre: Urban Fantasy
Series: Nikki Glass, Book #3

Nath: One of the many UF series that I've been following. This series is actually pretty interesting and different, but it has yet to blow me away. Perhaps this one will? It certainly has the potential according to the blurb! And yes, seems like there is going to be some romantic development between Nikki and Jamaal :P

Nath: Yay!! We get Dune and Sophie's story! I know I'm not the only one who was looking forward to this one :) I'm really excited to get back to Barefoot William. Last year, I really enjoyed Ms Angell's No Tan Lines and I think it's going to be the same with No Strings Attached :)

You've got some good books listed! I have the Mary Balogh and Deanna Raybourn books as well as Assassin's Gambit and the Heather Blake book on my list.

Did you know there is a prequel novella which came out yesterday for the Deanna Raybourn book? It's free at least at Amazon.

There's a lot of books on this list that I'm looking forward to and some that I've already read and enjoyed.

I enjoyed Wrecked too, I definitely recommend that book too.

Thanks for the list ladies (as always), I'm adding to my list right now. =)

Great list ladies!
I might give Thea Harrison another try. Couldn’t get into her dragon series but I do like the blurb for this one. I’ll wait with Nath and see how you like it Ames. :)

So happy Mary Balogh is releasing her older books. My dream is to have everything she’s ever written. Someday…

With all these good historical releases coming out, I hope my mood for historicals comes back quickly!

Isabel - So Violet and Edmund, that are the parents right? LOL.

Jan - Better enjoy this month as it seems starting from May, the new releases are slowing down again :( Sigh.

I can't wait to get my hand on the Heather Blake! I hope it measures up to my expectations!

I read Assassin's Gambit already :) Did you get it yet, Jan? Want to buddy review it together?

And I wasn't aware about the prequel for the Deanna Raybourn. I might need to pick up this new one of hers. I've been meaning to read her, but just didn't get into the other series...

Wena - I know Ames read Wrecked already and enjoyed it as well, which is why it's going on my list. Glad you did too, Wena!

And LOL, it's our pleasure to add more to your list :)

Leslie - Hmmm about the Thea Harrison. So far, the ratings for it aren't great, but I don't know if it's because people didn't like it or are comparing it to the paranormal series...

Someday indeed, LOL. Slowly but surely, right? :)

I hope mine comes back soon as well!

Nath, I've just started Assassin's Gambit and I've never done a buddy review, but if you're still interested let me know!

Jan - Buddy reviews are easy, Jan! We just discuss the book, what we liked, what didn't work, etc :)

Just let me know when you're done reading the book and I'll shoot you an email!

by the way, I'm done with the book :) Looking forward to your thoughts!

Nath, I've finished the book!

Jan - Cool! Can you shoot me an email? I can't find yours! Mine is natuschan at gmail.com :)
