May New Releases

Ames: This post is going up late but hey, Nath and I both were out of town at the beginning of the month.

Chantal: And Monroe and I forgot about this post, LOL.

Nath: Plus, most of the releases that we're looking forward to are only coming out at the end of this month... so we're not that late :P

Ames: I've read a Robin Wells book before (which Nath and I reviewed here) and I really enjoyed it. I wouldn't mind checking this one out. Has a heavier subject matter than the one I read, but that's a good thing sometimes.

Nath: This one is on my radar as well :) I've enjoyed my previous read by Ms Wells, although as you said Ames, this is a heavier subject matter... Ms Wells usually write comedies, so I wonder how she'll handle this :)

Genre: Young Adult - Fantasy
Series: Spirit Academy #5

Chantal: I wish I could get into this series. Her writing style in the YA books throws me off too much. I don't like it.

Nath: I've never realized how much Ms Mead was popular until I went to the RT convention. I have the first book in my TBR pile... will have to try it out soon.

Monroe: I LOVE this series! I also read a similar vampire YA series (House of Night by PC & Kristen Cast) and let me tell you it gives that series a run for its money! This series is WAY more adult! The first book was good but doesn't compare to the rest of the series! CAN'T WAIT TO READ THIS STINKING BOOK!

The danger Cat tried to outrun is about to separate them forever-unless two wary lovers can find a way to banish the shadows and give in to their desires.

Genre: Historical Romance
Series: Hathaways #4

Ames: Ok, in this series, this is the book I'm least looking forward to. But it brings us one book closer to Beatrix's!

Nath: LOL, I'm with you Ames. I like Leo, but Ms Marks has left me cold so far in the series.

Monroe: I have these books but haven't read them yet but is LK so I know I will! I love her! =)

Web of Lies by Jennifer Estep
Published by Simon and Schuster
Curiosity is definitely going to get me dead one of these days. Probably real soon.

I'm Gin Blanco. You might know me as the Spider, the most feared assassin in the South. I'm retired now, but trouble still has a way of finding me. Like the other day when two punks tried to rob my popular barbecue joint, the Pork Pit. Then there was the barrage of gunfire on the restaurant. Only, for once, those kill shots weren't aimed at me. They were meant for Violet Fox. Ever since I agreed to help Violet and her grandfather protect their property from an evil coalmining tycoon, I'm beginning to wonder if I'm really retired. So is Detective Donovan Caine. The only honest cop in Ashland is having a real hard time reconciling his attraction to me with his Boy Scout mentality. And I can barely keep my hands off his sexy body. What can I say? I'm a Stone elemental with a little Ice magic thrown in, but my heart isn't made of solid rock. Luckily, Gin Blanco always gets her man... dead or alive.

Genre: Urban Fantasy
Series: Elemental Assassin #2

Nath: I loved, loved, loved Spider's Bite. Definitively looking forward to Web of Lies. I can't wait to find out how the story will unfold... especially Gin's relationship with Detective Donovan Caine :)

So many goodies to buy this month! I got lucky and found Magic Bleeds early in the stores so I was able to get one read down out of many May new releases to be read.

Others I'm looking forward to purchase are: Web of Lies, Ten Things I Love About You, Married by Morning, Raven on the Wing (thanks, I didn't know this was being reprinted!), and One Dance with a Duke (maybe on this one).

A book not on the list is Silent Scream by Karen Rose. I can't wait for David's story!

~ames~ said...

LOL Tabitha-Nath and I were debating the Karen Rose. But I guess on the publisher website it says June 1? I pre-ordered it at Book Depository and already have it either way. LOL

nath said...

Funny how at this moment, I'm very envious at both of you!! One has Magic Bleeds, the other Silent Scream... UGH!!! But I still love you two!

I've started stalking the bookstores yesterday... sigh.

Tabitha said...

Ames, I go by whichever release date is sooner. hehe. j/k. I'm just hoping and hoping for early release of Silent Scream. So jealous you have the book already!

Nath, I've been stalking the bookstores since Saturday. ^_^ Going again after work in case I get lucky. I hope you find something too!

Alayna Williams said...

Thanks for the shout-out on DARK ORACLE! I hope that you enjoy. :-)

Isabel said...

Lisa Kleypas and Julia Quinn! I need to get to borders!

Christine said...

Oh wow. Before I read this list I only had two books on my May list... y'all convinced me of a few more! :)

nath said...

Tabitha - LOL. I've turned stalking booktore into an art, Tabz :) But it helps to have an insider... I think you should befriend an employee :P

Alayna Williams - I hope so too!! Thanks for stopping by!

Isabel - LOL, yes! Those are definitively go-to authors :D

Christine - LOL, which two did you have? and what did you add? LOL.

Christine said...

Already on my list is Magic Bleeds by Ilona Andrews and One Dance with a Duke by Tessa Dare.

... now I've added His At Night by Sherry Thomas, Ten Things I Love About You by Julia Quinn, and Web of Lies by Jennifer Estep. Of course that means I'd better pick up Spider's Bite as I've been meaning to since your and other stellar reviews ages ago. I sort of feel like I've had my fill of PNR and UF, but this one's calling to me ...

I'll also get Lisa Kleypas' Hathaway novel eventually, but no rush as I'm behind in the series now anyway.

All these great books coming out... I wish I was a faster reader--I wanna read all of them!!!!!

nath said...

LOL, I know Christine! It just seems like... well actually, it doesn't seem like, it just happens they're all being released on the same day!

They weren't on your list because you didn't realize they were coming out?

Christine said...

Nath, I guess the other books weren't on my "official" list, so I wasn't really fully aware of when they were coming out.

I was at the bookstore Friday night, but NONE of them were out on the shelf yet. Now I have a busy week ahead of me and am not sure when I'll get to the bookstore again. Boo!!

Kaetrin said...

I'm looking forward to His At Night, 10 Things I Love About You and the new Susan Donovan. So many books, so little time!!

nath said...

Christine - Awww, Christine :( That definitively is not fun! Can't you send someone? LOL.

Kaetrin - I know!! However, your list is quite short ;P
