Buddy Review: Something Wonderful by Judith McNaught

Something Wonderful by Judith McNaught

Description~ The tempestuous marriage of Alexandra Lawrence, an innocent country girl, and Jordan Townsende, the rich and powerful Duke of Hawthorne, is about to face its ultimate test of tender loyalty. Swept into the endlessly fascinating world of London society, free-spirited Alexandra becomes ensnared in a tangled web of jealousy and revenge, stormy pride and overwhelming passion. But behind her husband's cold, arrogant mask, there lives a tender, vital, sensual man...the man Alexandra married. Now, she will fight for his very life...and the rapturous bond they alone can share.

Monroe: I thought we could start off by talking about why you chose to read Something Wonderful in the first place. I know you told me this was your first romance, one that got you sucked into reading this genre right? What made it so special?

Rowena: Before I started reading romance novels, I used to hear all of my older sisters discuss different books from time and time. Judith McNaught was a huge favorite of theirs and I overheard my sister’s Blanche and Helen talking about Jordan. I used to see them reading books all the time and then one day, which I happen to remember was January 21, 1999. I picked up Something Wonderful by Judith McNaught and started reading it just to see what the big deal was. I read that book in two days and I knew that I was lost. From that day on, I haven’t gone very long without reading a romance novel. I’m hooked and I don’t ever want to stop reading these. I am in love with these books and as much as I love all of the heroes that I read, I will always have a special place for Jordan Matthew Addison Townsende in my heart. =P I think what made it so special was the drama. Over the course of the book, you’re getting to know two characters so well that you can’t help but root them on toward their happy ending and when they’re going through the different conflicts, it makes you that more excited to see how they’ll finally get their shit together and do right by each other. That happily ever after is what’s so special….and Jordan and Alex’s happily ever after remains one of my most favorites of all time.

Monroe: Yes! Romances are awesome. They tug at all the right strings of your soul! I too read this book in two days! How could you not?!? I got so wrapped up in it that I had to make myself go to bed at 4am one night! I just loved that at every turn you were on the tip of your seat with some new drama taking place. If someone wasn't being shot at, poisoned or in the midst of a screaming match they were being seduced in the most amazing ways! ;o) This was my first McNaught book to ever read and I knew once I was done reading it I wanted this review with you b/c you're the reason I even picked it up! And man am I ever thankful! You know I think one of my favorite things about this book is that Alex is so innocent which in turn makes Jordan very protective. He has such a hard exterior that you never expected him to be so careful and loving with her. He just knew she was something different! I think one of my favorite scenes actually shows how innocent she is...it was after they were married and Jordan was going to take her to bed that night...she goes behind a screen to change and she’s appalled by the holes and slits in the night gown. She goes as far as saying his seamstress should have her scissors taken away from her! lol Of course Jordan can't help but laugh and neither could I! And how about when Jordan went missing? OMG I lost it there for a while and thought he was never coming back!

Rowena: Jordan knew that she was something wonderful. =P For me, this book reminds me of the kind of marriage that I want. Well, not the kind that starts with my soon to be husband plotting to ship me off to live in some far away estate and leave me there while he goes on his merry way but the way that this book ended and the depth of Jordan’s love for Alex at the end is definitely something I’ve always wanted ever since I was a little girl. I really enjoyed this story as a whole. There was plenty of angst, plenty of verbal sparring between the characters and it was just one very emotional but very fulfilling ride. One of my most memorable reads that’s for sure. So let’s get down and dirty with this mess….what did you think of Jordan Matthew Addison Townsende? What was your favorite thing about him? Your least favorite thing about him? I want to know all of the juicy bits so let’s get to it!

Monroe: What I LOVE about Jordan...that even when he was mad he loved her unconditionally! He even talked about at one point wanting to beat her! lol But at the same time couldn't help but think of how beautiful she was and how much he cared for her! That right there is a great love. Even when he was mad he never doubted that he cared for her! :o) And you know...there's not much to hate about Jordan...I mean sure he’s quick to anger at times and I cringed when he talked about pitying her and sending her off but otherwise he came out of all of those bad qualities and in the end totally redeemed himself! My question...what about after you thought Jordan was dead? I mean sure there was a voice in the back of your head telling you he was still alive but did you sorta get a liking for Tony? I did in a way that I hurt for Alex and Tony was so sweet, I never really considered him as the villain...BUT I think deep in Tony's heart he didn't TRULY want her. I think he more of had a infatuation with her. That's about it.

Rowena: You know when I first read the book, I remember wondering why Judith McNaught chose to write the book the way that she did with the reader thinking that Jordan was dead. As I got deeper and deeper into the book, Jordan’s supposed death helped to bring out different emotions in me. I felt and grieved for Jordan the same way that Alex did even though I knew what an ass he was by what he was planning to do with Alex once they were married. None of that mattered because that scene when they had their mock duel happened and I saw a softness in Jordan that I absolutely loved and held on to. As far as Tony was concerned, I didn’t hate Tony. I doubted him for a little bit while I was reading this for the first time but I just liked Tony. I didn’t absolutely love him but I didn’t hate him either. I just liked him. I thought he did as best as he could by Alex and I admired the way that he stepped into his role as back up Duke even though a little part of me wondered if he was behind all of the Jordan business. It was too obvious so I didn’t hold on to those thoughts for long but to me, Tony was no replacement for Jordan. Nobody was. Jordan was in a league all his own. I loved him more than anyone in this book even when he was being an obtuse ass. I loved Jordan as well, he’s one of my favorite Judith McNaught heroes because he was my first….and you always remember your first! =P

Monroe: Very true you do always remember your first! :o) I really love how McNaught seemed to perfectly sum up every loose end! From Jordan's grandmother's distaste for Alex to Tony and his lost love of Sally! Speaking of Jordan's grandmother...I loved her and Alex's relationship! At first she totally despised Alex and then Jordan's disappearance brought them together! :o) I thought it was extremely touching how she stayed right by her side when she was basically a vegetable! And I teared up when Alex told her the stories of how proud Jordan was of her and how much he loved her. Super touching!

Rowena: That’s right. That scene with Jordan’s grandmother when Alex goes to see her after Jordan’s disappearance was announced. How she fought until she started crying? I love that scene. Judith McNaught does a fantastic job of writing stories that engage the reader in the different emotions. She knows how to make me laugh, cry and sigh all while reading her stories. You really get into these books and this book was no exception. Jordan and Alex’s relationship is one of the sweetest and powerful because when Jordan is with Alex at the end, pleading with her not to leave him. When he’s telling her that he remembers the colors of the flowers outside and when he’s telling her that if she leaves him, his soul will be black and how much he needs her. Those kinds of powerful scenes where there is just no doubt of the hero’s love for the heroine makes reading romance novels all the more worthwhile for me. What did you think about Roddy Carstairs? Haha.

Monroe: Oh ya and I just loved Alex's words as she first came to...about how big Elizabeth Grangerfield's feet where! LMAO! TOO FUNNY! Oh Roddy...now that IS someone I expected to be in on everything. How he was so dumb telling everyone about saving Jordan and then the bet he put her name! Ya I figured he was in on it! I really liked his character though! He was so openly flirty and you could tell he just didn't give a hoot about what people thought! But all in all he ended up being a decent friend of Alex's! What did you think about Jordan coming into her own? I loved how she blossomed into a beautiful girl (even though Jordan loved her before she matured :o) and when she started going out to the balls and being around the men! I rooted for her to be happy SO MANY TIMES! She tried so hard!

Rowena: Oh yeah, I totally remember that. I laughed out loud because that is so something Alex would say. Then to see Jordan laughing while crying? Awww. It was too cute, the perfect way to end the book. Roddy made me laugh and he got on my nerves a lot too but he was a good character in the book. As you read more and more of JM’s historical novels, you’ll see Roddy pop up here and there. He’s fun. I thought that the growth Alex went through in this story was outstanding. To see how far she came in such a short amount of time. The Alex at the end of the book was sure of herself, was in total love with her husband and she was a young woman that her grandfather would have been outrageously proud of. I loved how she kept right on coming back and proving everyone wrong about her. She was so strong. After having been embarrassed by Jordan and then to have everyone talk about her the way that they did and to see her brave the crowds anyway made me admire the socks right off of her and just like you, I was cheering her on so much. She was a great heroine!

Monroe: Yes I really loved her too! :o) She I think has probably been one of my fav heroines in Historicals! So overall I seriously loved this book. It made your emotions go all over the place and to me that’s good writing! As I said this was my first McNaught book and I have to thank you Ween for making me read it b/c I KNOW it won’t be my last. I can’t help but give this book an A+! I think it’s pretty obvious, but what’s your rating?

Rowena: Oh, my grade is an A+! This book entertained me so much that it seriously hooked me on romance forever! It was such a long journey but after I finished the book, I was so content with the book as a whole and so giddy that I knew that this book would be one book that I will love forever. Jordan was an unforgettable hero and Alex was an outstanding heroine. They were perfect together and I love how Jordan came to realize that over the course of this book. I loved how it was Alex that got him through the worst of his abduction and I loved how Alex made him work to get back into her good graces. I love that she knew, even as a historical heroine that she was meant for more than just a crotchety ol’ marriage. I love how she wished and dreamed for that something wonderful…and then got it in Jordan. Love this book, A+!

A New Look

Hey everyone! We decided, with Monroe joining us and all, that we should update the look a little bit.

What do you think?

Also, we know this template doesn't look good in IE. But it sure looks great in Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. LOL We'll try working on it for IE, but we're not exactly experts.

ETA: Nath here :) Just for knowledge's sake, I've added a poll on the sidebar. Take two seconds to choose which browser you use :P

Buddy Review: Succubus Heat by Richelle Mead

Succubus Heat by Richelle Mead

I'm proud to be the person to get Ames hooked on this series. We were excited to do this review together since we both love Georgina so much.

Also, there are spoilers.

Georgina Kincaid has been a bad, bad succubus...

…which should be a good thing. But lately, thanks to her foul mood over breaking up with bestselling writer Seth Mortensen, she’s been so wicked that Seattle’s über-demon Jerome, decides to “outsource” Georgina to a rival—and have her spy for him in the process.

Being exiled to the frozen north—okay, Vancouver—and leaving Seth in the cozy clutches of his new girlfriend is unpleasant enough. Then Jerome is kidnapped, and all immortals under his control mysteriously lose their powers. One bright spot: with her life-sucking ability gone, there’s nothing to keep Georgina from getting down and dirty with Seth—nothing apart from his girlfriend that is. Now, as the supernatural population starts turning on itself, a newly mortal Georgina must rescue her boss and figure out who’s been playing them—or all hell will break loose…

Ames: Chantal! I just finished Succubus Heat. I LOVED IT.

Did you read it and finish it yet???

I just want to say Squeeee for my review. LOL

Chantal: OMGOMGOMG.

Seth is going to hell. Wahhhh.

WTF was with the over use of the word 'inasmuch'? I wanted to scream after the fourth time. What a stupid word to over use, it stood out pretty bad.

How great was it that they FINALLY got to have sex? I was afraid it would be anticlimactic, but it wasn't!!

Ames: I know!!! It was awesome.
But now I'm worried about Seth going to hell. :(

Chantal: My belly flip flopped when I read that. :(
Maybe he will become immortal.
Or maybe hell isn't that bad.

I'm loving Georgie having a roommate. I'm glad he is back, I liked Roman in the first book.

Ames: I kind of want Georgie and roman to be together now. Because I did reread the first book and she really really liked him at the end. :P

Chantal: Yes, and he didn't kill her even though she ratted on him, so that's a bonus. LOL

Ames: I know. He said he loved her too.

Chantal: I knew early on that Georgie's helper was Roman, that excited me. Things were unresolved with them at the end of Succubus Blues, I'm glad he came back. I've been expecting him too.

Ames: I didn't think it was Roman at first. But I'm so glad he's back. I re-read the first book just to remind myself how things ended between them. So I do believe that Roman and her and going to get down and dirty again.

Although I kind of want something to happen with Carter. LOL

Chantal: I think that Carter is in love with her.

Ames: With Carter, you can tell her cares about her. And he's always mentioning how even she's not unredeemable and nothings set in stone.

Chantal: I've been thinking about Seth going to Hell, and I'm not that worried anymore. Are you still worried about it?

Ames: Not really.

I was really devastated by what he did in book 3. I kid you not. But I didn't cry. I'm not that wussy. haha

Chantal: You mean cheating on her, right? I actually cried! Grrr, damn Seth.

Ames: I was pretty dang close to crying. But I saw it coming. Especially with how Georgie was helping Maddy with her make-over and how Seth was the one who noticed it.

Also, what about her contract? Do you think that storyline is over?

Chantal: I do think the contract part is over, it's been looked at by a few who know what they are doing. If they find nothing wrong then it's prolly on the up and up. There has got to be another reason why whatisname messed with her like that.

I can't tell if the author likes Canada or not. Some of her Canuck jokes were over played. And the many Timmies mention... We get it already. Canada IS known for
more than it's coffee, ya know!

Ames: I had to laugh at the author's mentions of Timmies. Like she did her homework. I'm also thinking she likes her double double. LOL

Chantal: What is the name of that new succubus, the one that Georgie was helping? I laughed so hard when she got stuck in that horrid body, lol.

Ames: That other succubus, her name starts with an A. Aubrey? Ugh, Georgie needs to smack some sense into her!

Chantal:
Isn't Aubrey the cat?

Ames: Oh shoot, I think Aubrey is the cat. LOL

Chantal: One of my favourite parts on the book was when she walked to the bookstore as a "mortal". It really hit home how we all really could smashed by a bus just by walking down the street. We never think of it, though. Georgie's emotions came through so strong during that scene.

Ames: I like when the vampires were walking around during the day. LOL And poor Jerome! But there's a shift there, in his relationship to Georgie. Remember how before she always remarked on how he treated her like a teacher's pet? That's not there anymore. Things are definitely changing in this series, that's for sure.

But with all the traveling - I found that part of it kind of boring - the first half of the book is definitely not as interesting as the second half. And that's not just me being all focused on the sex!

Chantal: The group on Canada was kinda... dumb. It was leading up to a big story line, especially with the power struggle within the group. Even though we found out who was the real power, and why, it happened in a way that felt rushed.
You're right, the back and forth travels were tedious and not even necesary. Just felt like space fillers until we got to to the more exciting parts of the book.

Jerome's attitude has absolutely changed when it comes to Georgie. I hope we get to expand some more on that with the next book.

Ames: Yeah, I felt that the cult stuff didn't really go anywhere. Just to show how the group was being controlled by someone else.

OMG, I totally saw that Dante was the guy who did the thing! To Jerome? I saw it.

I loved how everyone hated Dante for Georgie. It shows that her circle cared about her.

Chantal: Oh! I had no idea!! I didn't suspect Dante at all.

Gosh, girl, my expectations for the next book are HUGE.

Ames: Mine too.

I just want to say again, I LOVED this book and it's a great addition to the series. I'm giving Succubus Heat an A+ and I'm anxious for more Georgie!!

Chantal:I'm giving it an A-

Review: Double Play by Jill Shalvis

Here it is, Monroe's first buddy review as a part of the Breezing Through team :) I hope everyone enjoys it!!

Double Play by Jill Shalvis
published by Berkley Sensation in July 2009

Getting to first base is a cinch... but getting home will take a grand slam...

Pace Martin is the ace pitcher for the Pacific Heat. He's got the arm, the experience, and the wins. He's also got the pain, the pressure, and the possible end of his career looming over him. The last thing he needs now is a distraction, even if it comes in the form of a tough, beautiful, tell-it-like-it-is writer who sees past his defenses.

Holly Hutchins knows a good story when she sees one, and the tall, dark, and slightly attitude-challenged Pace Martin fits the bill. But when she realizes there's more at stake than just a win, she starts to see the handsome, broad-shouldered jock in a different light.

Pace and Holly begin a seductive game, but in the face of unexpected betrayal and challenges, they'll have the courage to swing for the fences...

Genre: contemporary romance, sports romance
Series: The Pacific Heat, book #1

Nath: So Monroe, what did you think of Double Play? I was pleasantly surprised by it, I liked it better than I expected :)

Monroe: I really enjoyed this book as well. I couldn’t help but compare it to Rachel Gibson’s See Jane Score (which btw is one of my favs) and it was neck and neck there for a while and I ALMOST thought it would beat RG out, BUT the ending made me rethink that.

Nath: I agree with you. It’s hard not to compare Double Play and See Jane Score given that in both, the heroine is a reporter and the hero, a jock. Then, there were the superstitious tidbits LOL. I think that anyone who enjoys sport romances and/or See Jane Score should give Double Play a go. I thought there was a good balance between the sport and romance and I liked that there was no big ending-career injury and the focus wasn’t on the hero being too old and having to consider retirement. Yes, those issues were addressed, after all, Pace is 31 years old, but they weren’t the focus and I’m glad. One of my favorite aspects of this book is that Pace actually played baseball for 75-80% of the book! LOL.

Monroe: I love sports romances and this one for me is right up there close to the top. This was my first baseball sport to read about and I have to say that Pace gave my hockey men a run for their money! Pace...oh Pace...how dreamy is this guy. He has a tough exterior, cocky but not too pompous and oh how he has a heart of gold. I mean he couldn’t even totally shrug Holly off when she was so persistent about an interview and it was clear that he wasn’t giving her one.

Nath: You described Pace very well, he is definitively a winner and he does have a heart of gold... I liked him a lot. It was nice that he was quite down-to-earth. Sure, he enjoys his status as a professional player, but he doesn't have such an inflated ego. In short, he wasn't a jerk and that, I appreciated.

What did you think of Holly? I liked her as well. I thought that yes, she was insistent as a reporter, but not in a bad way. She was thoughtful and again, very down to earth. She respected the players even though she was trying to find secrets. They weren’t a mean to an end, she treated them like genuine people instead of stories. I thought that the topics of her articles were quite interesting and if someone in real life would write those, I would gladly read it.

Monroe: I really loved Holly. I would have to say she was one of my fav heroines! Is she insecure?... Sure but you would never know it by how forward and blunt she is. I loved that she knew what she wanted and wasn’t afraid to show it. She was totally up front about her feelings for Pace and when he pushed she pushed right back! Holly surprised me MANY times by how quick she was on her toes around all the guys and she seemed to feel right at home!

Nath: I wouldn't say Holly is my favorite heroine – I don’t think that any heroine who is a reporter could be ^_^; However, she does have personality characteristics that I admire. I like that she didn't lie to herself. That she admits she had feelings for Pace, but didn't push him. It was more a case of : "I like you, deal with it, I have already." I think that if Pace hadn't reciprocated her feelings, she would have dealt with it and eventually, overcome the crush and move on.

Aside from two likable main characters who share great chemistry, I thought Double Play had a nice cast of secondary characters as well. I liked that the Heat players got along well and that the story didn't focus on youngster coming and older player panicking. There was great camaraderie between the players and we also got to see their entourage – their publicist, manager, etc. LOL, I loved the fact that the players were so superstitious and made Pace and Holly kiss so they would win, but they would baby-sit them so they wouldn’t have sex, LOL :) And the fact that Pace was angry on Holly’s behalf for being used? Awww!

Monroe: Oh ya I loved all the players! How they treated Pace and Holly and their kissing but NO SEX rule cracked me up!

Oh and how far along were you when you figured out the story? I wasn't too far into it before I realized that the drugs were either coming from Tucker or Red. And when he drank Ty's drink I just KNEW he was going to get tested and it would come back positive. One thing they did sneak in on me was that Jeremy was the leak. He really didn’t have a big role in the book and so I didn't figure it would’ve been him.

Nath: LOL, I cheated. I always read the end ^_^; So I didn't have to figure things out. Although, seriously, it was very easy to figure who was supplying. It was harder to figure out who leaked the news. I thought that both issues were weak though and the news leak was a little bit superfluous. It would have been more effective to focus on one. I'm glad that Pace believed in Holly for that part. As for Jeremy, I think that was to set up the next book and perhaps his own.

I also had a few other quirks… First, there was a lot of emphasis on Holly and Pace's backgrounds and how it shaped their lives... However, I didn't feel it. I thought it was an excuse and Ms Shalvis used it too conveniently to explain away some of Holly and Pace’s habits or character traits. Also, the sequel baiting at the beginning of the book was too blatant. I don't mind sequel baiting, as long as it's done with subtlety. However, in this case, it was bam – in your face: here are the other players and their "storylines/background that is going to shape their story." It's really a minor thing, but still it annoyed me.

Monroe: I didn’t have too many problems with this book; in fact I found it rather addicting and hard to put down! However, I have to agree with you on some points. I too felt the backgrounds of their childhoods were a bit off. I felt the author maybe thought she needed to explain them so we would understand more about how the characters have grown into who they are but I felt it really wasn't needed, especially Holly’s background with her mother. It was all a bit awkward to me and I think she should’ve either wrote it more into the story or just totally left it out all together (more the latter of the two).

Nath: I agree with you. I felt that the backgrounds stories were definitively off. Like you, I think the authors should have worked the background stories more into the book or not use it at all. Seriously, I didn't see what was the big deal between Pace and his father. As for Holly, her background story with her life wasn’t very consistent. For example, Holly was once very poor and it seems to have marked her to the point where she’s a bit cheap. In that case, would she really rent a condo by the month and move out when she wants to? I mean, in her situation, I would want some security and have my own place, somewhere a little more permanent to reassure me... Also, wouldn’t she go for something cheaper? I just didn’t feel it.

Anything else that bothered you?

Monroe: This is a little bit of a spoiler, but the end kinda bothered me. Ok so their at the game and after they won its this big 'Yay moment' and Pace climbs over the fence to get to Holly and reporters are all there and he goes to propose and her response is "Oh you don’t need to propose. I just need you"...WTF?!? Like you’re all hyped up and excited...they won the game, he got the girl, etc. and she says THAT!!! I don’t know maybe I'm being picky but I felt a little deflated after she said that. I was talking about it with a friend and she said it did kind fit Holly character to react that way, and maybe it did... I just didn’t like it! LOL

Nath: Hmm, I didn't really mind the ending, but I see why it would bother you… it kind of killed the mood a little ^_^; Me, I was more bothered by the reporter/cameraman that said: "Oh sorry, you're trying to get laid." Ugh. Also, it seemed like an awkward moment to end the book - this was his comeback from the surgery right? (Wasn't that a bit quick?) So they still don't know yet whether they'll make the series, let alone if they won, right? Of course, if she ended the book at the other moments, it might have been a bit too cliched... but I felt that it was strange.

Overall though, I enjoyed Double Play a lot. I liked the main characters, enjoyed their chemistry and the palpable sexual tension. I’m giving it a B, it was fun and quick, but not ground-breaking.

Monroe: B+ from me! I overall really liked this book and besides the very few faults it had I think Id reread this book! It had a great feel to it and was SUPER addictive! Yet another great one from Jill Shalvis...

I REALLY hope they put Wade with Sam in the second book. I know that would be an interesting book. When Sam told Holly about getting stuck in the elevator and them finding things to do to pass the time...LMAO!

Nath: Did you read the excerpt at the end? Pretty sure the next book is going to be Wade and Sam’s story :) and as a bonus, we might see Tia :)

Welcome Monroe!!

There is no review for today, but we have a big announcement we’d like to share with everyone. Breezing Through was started in February 2008, so it’s been around for about 1.5 year. As you all know, Breezing Through is a collaborative effort by me, Ames and Chantal and the goal is to provide a different kind of review: joint/buddy reviews either wrote between us or with guest reviewers. The idea is to have more conversational reviews between two or more bloggers that will delve deeper in the books and spur more discussion.

We were very optimistic in the beginning, believing that the three of us could handle it… which we kind of did. However, we quickly discovered that writing buddy reviews wasn’t as easy as regular reviews. First, you have to find someone who’s read the same book and then exchange e-mails which can take some time… Once that is done, you need to put the review together which can be an enormous and daunting task. The end results always make it worth all the work and time. However, you cannot spontaneously write buddy reviews, they take planning and time and so they are less. In the past couple of months, the objective has been 1 buddy review per week and as you can see, it’s been somewhat successful, but hard to achieve. Real life, work, laziness, reading slump, blogger blues - they are so many factors that can interfere...

As a result, we’ve decided to invite a new contributor to join Breezing Through. You have probably guessed who by reading the title :) So we would like to welcome our new collaborator:

To welcome Monroe, we thought we’d have a welcoming post. Here is the discussion that we had…

***

Monroe: I feel very privileged to be asked to join your team! :o) I’ve recently started blogging myself so I only hope I live up to yalls expectations. So what do yall need me to do? What’s the game plan! lol TOTALLY EXCITED BTW!

Chantal: What do we need you to do? Well, every time you buy a book you must buy one for each of us as well. Yup. yup. That's the rule *evil grin*

Nath: And ship it to us, of course :)

Chantal: LOL, just kidding. My goal is to get Monroe hooked on m/m books.

Monroe: I think you should pick my first m/m book...*blushing*...LOL, I can’t help but giggle hehe. I feel like a dirty girl!

Chantal: Oh good! Feeling like a dirty girl is the first step of my evil plan. Mauahahhahahaaa!

Ames: Monroe - if you freaking read an M/M book before you read any of the books I recommended to you, I'll smack you! LOL

Monroe: OK OK! lol SHEESH!

Chantal: Ok, I'll wait before I give you any suggestions, but don't worry--I read a lot of paranormal, so if Ames kills you I know a few ways to bring you back to life. LOL.

Ames: Chantal, I made her buy Marly's Choice and Colters' Woman. So that's why I said I'd smack her if she read m/m first. LOL

Monroe: I started reading Colter’s woman one day and it was still on a sex scene on like page 15! lol

Chantal: OMG OMG GO BACK TO READING COLTER'S WOMAN RIGHT NOW!!! That's my fave book. Read it read it.

Monroe: You ARE trying to turn me into a sex crazed girl arentcha! LOL. But I’ll read it, promise.

Chantal: Of course. That's the best kind of girl there is.

Ames: Heck yeah!

Chantal: Oh Ames, this is so great. We have fresh meat to corrupt.

Ames: Teehee

Nath: LOL, you girls are hilarious :P and I have no doubt that you will succeed!

Chantal: Laugh now my dear Nath. I've not given up on you yet. I'm just giving you a break from my kinky harassment. ;-)

Nath: LOL, thanks for the break. Well the new meat seems to be easier to corrupt :P Go for her first!

Chantal: Hmmm, what we need to do a 4some review ASAP.

Ames: I like the idea of a 4some. LOL Monroe, you'll see how dirty minded Chantal and I can be. Hehe.

Monroe: LMAO! Why whatever do you mean by telling me that Ames...I’m a virgin! Ya with 3somes people just get jealous...4somes… at least everyone gets a partner! ;o) LOL Glad to find some dirty minds out there! I’m totally excited about this yay!

Chantal: Hey! I've had 3somes, and there was no jealousy. Never had a 4some, though. Ames is right, we are both naughty, naughty girls. I believe we make poor Nath blush. LOL

Nath: No comment on that LOL.

Monroe: LMAO! OMG what have i gotten myself into?!?!

Nath: Don't worry, Monroe :D I think you fit right in :P

Monroe: I hope so guys!

Ames: You will :P

So peeps, what do you think? Doesn’t Monroe fit right in our little group? :P I hope that with her joining in, we’ll be able to maintain a constant rhythm of reviews. Of course, we will still need your help as guest reviewers :) We hope that you keep enjoying the reviews and discussion :)

While we choose the book for our 4somes, Monroe will have her first buddy review up as a contributor tomorrow. It will be Double Play by Jill Shalvis and her buddy reviewer? None other than me :) So stay tuned!!
